Recreation: Well-Being Beyond Resettlement
REDA’s recreation services promote the physical, mental, and social well-being of refugees through organized outdoor, educational, and community-based activities. Many refugees arrive after experiencing war, persecution, displacement, and prolonged uncertainty. While access to housing, employment, education, and other essential services is critical, long-term well-being also depends on opportunities to heal, build relationships, and experience a sense of normalcy.
Our recreation services complement traditional resettlement support by creating safe and welcoming spaces where individuals and families can engage with others, reduce social isolation, and strengthen their mental and emotional well-being. Through shared recreational experiences, participants are introduced to their new communities in positive and meaningful ways, fostering a sense of belonging while encouraging active participation in community life.

Creating Opportunities for Joy and Connection
We believe successful integration extends beyond meeting immediate resettlement needs. Refugees thrive when they have opportunities to experience joy, build supportive relationships, and develop a meaningful connection to the communities they now call home.
