Integrated Support Services for Sacramento's Arabic, Farsi, Dari, and Pashto-Speaking Refugee Communities

At REDA, our social services provide one-on-one support to refugee individuals and families through a case management process to best determine immediate needs and how to meet them. Services are designed to help clients access essential resources, navigate unfamiliar systems, and build greater independence as they establish their lives in a new place.

Working closely with each client, our staff provide direct assistance and connections with community resources that promote long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

We help clients access essential services that support everyday life, including:

  • General applications assistance
  • DHA applications (EBT, Cash Aid, and MediCal)
  • Utilities services and applications
  • Low-income housing applications
  • Tenant advocacy

Our staff helps clients understand and navigate the healthcare system by providing assistance with:

  • Medical appointments and applications
  • Medical insurance services
  • Health insurance enrollment and management
  • Assessment of emotional wellbeing
  • Free counseling
  • Referrals to Arabic-, Dari-, Pashto-, and Farsi-speaking counselors

Our employment services help clients prepare for and pursue meaningful employment by providing:

  • Employment search, referrals, and job applications
  • Resume and CV development

We connect clients with trusted legal service providers and community partners who offer guidance on immigration and family law matters. Through referrals, clients can access legal assistance for services such as:

  • Immigration applications and processes
  • Family reunification and petitions
  • Adjustment of status and naturalization
  • Family law matters
  • Know Your Rights resources and legal consultations

We also assist with many of the day-to-day tasks that can be difficult to navigate in a new country, including:

  • DMV appointments
  • Traffic and parking citation assistance
  • Childcare licensing applications
  • Free childcare eligibility applications
  • Mail translation
  • Other individualized support as needed

When specialized services fall outside the scope of our programs, clients are referred to trusted partner organizations that provide additional support. Our partners help offer more comprehensive legal services, healthcare, housing assistance, education, employment support, and other community resources.

Our goal is to ensure every client has access to the resources, information, and support they need to achieve immediate and long-term success in their new home.
